My Sewing Machine

This is my industrial sewing machine which is specifically designed for sewing through thick leather, up to 7/16".  It also sews through thick denim, webbing, canvas and biothyne.

I have a range of sizes and colors of threads that I will post some pictures of.  As for thread size I stock 138, 207, 277 & 346.  These thread sizes or thicknesses handle everything from accent stitching on items to holding holsters together.

A couple of years ago (prior to my ownership of this machine) I had my local tailor replace the zipper in a heavy-weight denier nylon work coat from Cabela's.  She told me that she would try it; however, her machine was not made to handle thick items like this coat.  She did the best she could with her machine...but many of the stitches didn't go through the thick layers of the coat and the zipper-so I now have another project.  When I compare the thickness of her thread to the thread for my machine, my threads look like rope.  I mention this illustrate that every machine has its purpose and limits.  So if you need your pants shortened, go to your tailor. If you need something thicker than 3/16" stitched, contact me.

I included the 1 quart paint can in the pictures so you would have a size reference for the machine and the cones of thread.
